If you are looking for a spooky way to add more Halloween spirit to your home, bat crafts are an excellent solution. Bat crafts are also ideal because they can be made to be suitable for whatever age child you have. You can give your Halloween bats a more animated and cute look or you can make scary vampire bats to spook the older kids. Here are just a few examples for how you can incorporate bat crafts into your Halloween celebrations this October.
Bat Mobile
Bat mobiles make fun indoor and outdoor decorations. They also provide the maker with a lot of flexibility as far as time and effort are concerned. All that you will need for this craft is some construction paper, string, a hanger, scissors and some markers. Make a number of different bat shapes. If you are not confident in your bat making skills you can find a picture of a bat online and make a template. Cut out the bats and attach each one to a different length of string. Tie the other end of each string to the long horizontal portion of the hanger. To make this craft a little more advanced, you can make your bats out of felt and add dimension by stuffing them (just take two identical cutouts, but some extra material or batting between them and sew or glue them together). To make the bats look like they are flying on their own use fishing wire and paint the hanger a dark color or a color that will blend in with its surroundings. Another idea is to have each member of your family make one of the bats during an activity night.
