SharkFriends is a wonderful marine life site that focuses on educating visitors about sharks and other ocean animals too. I find it very nicely designed and easy to navigate. It’s especially nice to see a site showing information and pictures about sharks that educate rather than scare.

It features five strands: research skills and strategies, teacher tools, telecollaborative projects, professional growth and mentorship, and curricular resources. “Teachers can collaborate with their colleagues on an Internet project, participate in online discussions, help their colleagues integrate the Internet into their classrooms, collect and contribute Internet links in their subject area or contribute teaching materials to share online.” This site also includes excellent links for parents and kids!
