As a homeschooling mom I have discovered this site and have used the free worksheets with my children. It has saved me money not having to buy books, they are easy to understand and the kids enjoy doing them. I have seen many learning sites but to me, this is the one I always seem to come back to.

An informative and humorous look at Mozart’s life as told by the Maestro himself. Beautiful graphics and an interactive message board, where Mozart answers questions from his visitors. A perfect opportunity for students and adults to write to Mozart personally. He answers every letter!

Bancroft Arnesen Expedition

January 26, 2000 -- From Stan Oleson, a parent from Minneapolis, MN who is affiliated with the site

This site tracks the progress of the attempt of Ann Bancroft (USA) and Liv Arnesen (Norway) to become the first two women to travel all the way across Antarctica, skiing pulling sleds weighing 250 pounds! They are developing a free curriculum which can be used in schools around the world. The site is a good way to get information about Antarctica, but more importantly it’s about the value of pursuing your dreams, wherever they lead you. It’s fun now, and it will improve as the Expedition, which starts in November 2000, draws closer!

I am partly affilated with this site. I am the head of Gryffindor, Professor Potter. This is a wonderful site, and I suggest you visit it. (while you’re there, could you maybe take a peek in my office…?)

Screenit

January 19, 2000 -- From Linda S., a parent from San Jose, CA who is not affiliated with the site

This site gives parents a very complete review of recently released movies, videos, DVDs, and music. It breaks them down into 12 categories including violence, sex, nudity, as well as imitative behavior, disrespectful behavior, tense family situations, inappropriate music and frightening scenes. It is a great site if you have any doubts whether you want your child to see a particular movie.
