Ask a Firefighter

Children from across the United States are invited to participate in the Ask a Firefighter Program. Launched in October 2008, the program is hosted by firefighter and fire safety educator Dayna Hilton. The Ask a Firefighter program helps promote fire safety, shares information about fire departments and firefighters.

Children are invited to submit their question about firefighters, fire safety or the fire service and their question will be answered by a real live firefighter.

Firefighter Dayna’s website is an interactive fire safety site for children and their caregivers. The website includes fire safety videos, coloring pages, activity pages, fire safety craft ideas and much more.

Children are invited to submit their videos, coloring pages and fire safety craft ideas. Children are welcome to send fire safety related questions and Firefighter Dayna will individually answer each question.

Junior Fire Marshal

The Hartford Junior Fire Marshal program was created in 1947 to teach children the basics of personal fire safety and keep families safe. Over the past 60 years, we’ve deputized more than 110 million Junior Fire Marshals. Educational materials are available for free download. All are welcome to copy and distribute these materials.
