Urban Bird Sounds Project

Please take a moment to check out this wonderful project. Written and narrated by high school students from Boston, MA, the Urban Bird Sounds Project is an audio guide to the songs and calls of common urban (and suburban) birds. The guide features recordings of birds, tips and tricks for learning bird sounds, information about each of the 18 species featured, and short quizzes to help you review. There are also many photos of the birds as well as easily downloadable lessons and activities for teachers and students. The whole guide is available for download (for free) on the website (www.urbanbirdsounds.org) or you can order a CD copy (also free)!

Parrot cage is a site dedicated to the parrots such as african grey parrot, meyers parrot and senegal parrot, but it is also an excellent resource for information on all birds and parrots.

Mariah, a Peregrine Falcon, has returned to the Kodak Tower for eight years to raise her family. This year she had five babies. Pictures are great! She and Kaver are wonderful parents. Site has PDF curriculum for teachers.

Operation RubyThroat is an award-winning cross-disciplinary project in which K-12 students, teachers, and others in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Central America collaborate to study behavior and distribution of the ruby- throated hummingbird.
