Folkmanis opened a free creativity contest for children ages 5-14. The contest is featured in the February and March issues of Kidz Magazine. The winner of the contest will get to designate a school or library to receive a collection of twenty-four wilderness puppets from Folkmanis. The first 200 kids to enter will win small a prize; the top 20 entries will win $20; the top 3 will win $50 cash plus a $50 Folkmanis gift certificate; and the grand prize winner will receive a $200 Folkmanis gift certificate, $100 cash, and get their artwork published in Kidz Magazine.

New interactive site uses game strategy to involve kids in art. What if the J. Paul Getty Museum's paintings were in pieces, and it was up to kids to put them back together again? Or if someone switched the details on the artworks, and kids had to find the changes? That's the world of GettyGames, the J. Paul Getty Museum's newly launched web feature that uses game strategies to help kids focus on art.

Artsonia is the world's largest kids art museum online. It's a free, educational site where parents and teachers can upload the artwork done by kids and share their artwork with friends and family. There is no cost to participate, no minimum number of artwork required and any parent or teacher can do it! Family members can join a fan club, leave comments for the artist and purchase keepsakes imprinted with the child's artwork. It's fun, education, easy and everyone is welcome to participate!

Collections Online is a fully-searchable database featuring the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. With 45,000 records and 27,000 digital images, it is one of the largest databases developed by an art museum in the U.S.

The site integrates art with science and social studies to teach recycling concepts in a fun and entertaining way. Visitors learn how to make art using easy to obtain solid waste as a source of free materials. Some of the activities include drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, papier-maché, marbling and crafts. A feature called the Badge Matcher helps Brownies, Girl Scouts and their leaders quickly locate art activities that help satisfy badge requirements.
