August 24, 2006 -- From Gamma Phi Ringmaster, a reader, from Normal, Illinois, who is affiliated with the site.
The Gamma Phi Circus is the longest running collegiate circus in the world. It began in 1929 at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Auditions for the circus are held each fall and all students, faculty and staff are welcome to join in. Practices are held twice a week throughout the year and each spring there are multiple performances that garner large audiences on campus and throughout the state of Illinois.
