Elephants continue to fascinate both scientists and general observers alike. They are recognized as being among the most intelligent creatures on earth. In fact, some enthusiasts believe that their intelligence rivals that of human beings. Aristotle even said of elephants: "The beast which passeth all others in wit and mind".

This is the new web site for the Malaysian Elephant Appeal. It's an organization in Malaysia that does projects to improve conditions for the elephants at Kuala Gandah and to increase people's awareness of conservation issues. Many of its projects have focused on engaging youth in environmental education.
