This site features a variety of kid-friendly math resources, including math poems, math videos, math songs, and a 3-5th grade math adventure which is full of word problems. There is also a lesson page, where Mr. R., a math education specialist in New York City, will post lesson plans to be used in conjunction with the math poems. Mr. R. also has a link to his library that contains some of his funny non-math poems for kids.

It is a place where you can don your thinking cap and create stories, offer solutions to sticky situations, play games (see Brain Fun), provide feedback and do a whole host of other stuff. StudyStack is a free site that helps students memorize anything. Anyone can enter facts in flashcard format. Then the site takes that data and makes other games such as crossword, word search, scrambled word, hangman, matching, and even an interactive "bug chasing" game. The flashcards can be exported to your cell phone or iPod.

I was looking for a web site that had content written for children as general interest and as a help to my son wnhe he's doing his homework. Someone on the BBC parenting forum recommended this site to me, and I thought I'd share with you. It has a lot of interesting pages for children to read on all sorts of subjects.
