ilovebacteria.com

May 6, 2008 -- From Kat, a reader, from London, England, who is affiliated with the site.

ilovebacteria.com was created to share the author's passion for science with anyone else who happens to be considering a career in science or is simply interested in the how the world around us works! We have lots of strange science facts (like why does asparagus make your wee smell!) and are happy to answer user-submitted questions if there is something you want to find out about, there are DIY experiments (such as getting eggs into bottles and extracting DNA in your kitchen) that can help out with science fair projects, scientific principles are explained in easy to understand language, real scientists have written a number of career advice articles, and there is also lots of info on my favourite subject - bacteria.

Kid Scoop: Combat Spread of Germs

November 1, 2007 -- From Vicki, a reader, from Sonoma, CA, who is affiliated with the site.

Current news reports on the dangers of the MRSA infection (Methicillan-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), as well as the onset of the cold and flu season have sparked Kid Scoop to create a page dedicated to helping kids take simple steps to reduce their risk of infection. The Kid Scoop "Germ Patrol" page is being offered across the country and around the globe as a public service, free of charge. The page focuses on the importance of regular hand washing, explains how germs and bacteria are spread and how infections attack healthy cells in the body.
