Walden Media was started with a simple goal: bring the kind of books we all love and admire to the screen. And that's what the company has done with films based on classic books like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe or recent award-winning novels such as Holes, Bridge to Terabithia and Because of Winn-Dixie. Walden also publishes books, like the Paddywhack Lane series and The White Giraffe. Some of Walden's productions and publications are inspired by real-life stories like the incredible career of Jim Thorpe, or the wonders of deep-sea exploration.
Walden.com offers lots of free educational games based on its books and movies at http://www.walden.com/walden/play. Parents and teachers will find the free educational materials at http://www.walden.com/walden/teach to be useful when discussing these movies and books with children. Free video clips can be found at http://www.walden.com/walden/experience. It's all kid- and family-friendly.

The "Just One More Book!" podcast is a thrice-weekly audio on demand broadcast in which we discuss the children's books we love and why we love them. Episodes range in length from 5 to 12 minutes and can be played directly from our web page or downloaded to an ipod for listening on the go. Each episode is an informal discussion of one of our family's favourite children's books. Occasionally, the episodes feature interviews with authors, literacy related discussions or audio reviews submitted by our listeners.
