The website chronicles the horrors of captivity in the 'Hanoi Hilton,' the 'tap code' the POWs used to communicate from cell to cell, and the difficulties faced by the wives and families of the captured pilots.
October 17, 2000 -- From Jim P., a reader from USA, South Dakota, Pierre who is affiliated with the site
During the Vietnam War the US Army sent teams of soldier artists into the field to record a visual record of their experiences for the US Army's Center of Military History Army Art Collection. Jim Pollock was one of these soldier artists and his Web site is dedicated to his experience as a soldier artist in 1967. The artist will answer student questions about his experience as a soldier artist, his art and his views on art. Students are encouraged to interview the artist by email for research papers.
July 11, 2000 -- From Jackie, a parent from Billings, MT who is not affiliated with the site
The Vietnam War gave rise to the largest and most successful antiwar movement in US history. In a sense, the war in Vietnam had two fronts -- one in Vietnam waged with tanks, guns and bullets, and the other fought on streets and campuses throughout the US.
