Science Alive

February 25, 2007 -- From Rene, a reader, from Christchurch, New Zealand, who is affiliated with the site.

A great site to learn more about New Zealand’s only dedicated science centre. Gives information on their exhibitions, climbing wall, vertical slide, gyroscope, black hole mini golf plus all their programmes and educational classes. There’s also a kids page, science information and you can explore in virtual 3D without even being there. Bright, colourful, updated regularly and easy to navigate.

This site is great for parents and chldren. It is a complete Earth Science program with many experiments and articles that children would love to have access to. It shows children having fun doing science. they make molecules and bend light. They plant seeds and watch them grow. They make a model of Earth and paste seeds, twigs, leaves and rocks onto it. It is a cool site for kids.

Here’s a great site with tons of science experiments – the kind that actually work. I teach 5th grade science at Willow Creek Elementary in Colorado and my team uses these experiments. We like his videos best of all because you can finally see someone doing the experiment. Just thought you’d like to know.

My kids love this site because the experiments are drawn as comical cartoons. Also the experiments can be done by kids of all ages using everyday household stuff. Well done, Hunkin!
