It is amazing how much you can determine about whether or not you will like a game by looking at information about it. If you read a review that says it rocks because there are lots of cool explosions, etc. you might see the part about explosions and say, "Not for me." Even though the review was positive, your feelings may be negative.
3.Go to your local or cheapest games shop. There is a good chance that the person at the counter is pretty familiar with gaming, and plays often. So ask if they know of any good games in your genre. If you are unsure about their selection, ask why they chose that. Thye may love it and have totally different interests then you. Next, ask what they sell the most of. You may find that while they love MMORPG, they sell a lot of simulation games.

The most expensive isn't always the best, and you do not want to buy a game on recommendation that is going to put you out a whole lot of money without knowing you want to play it. 5.Buy from a shop that allows returns/exchanges/refunds. Sometimes a game can look good but can actually play poorly, or is just not good for you. So, this is a good way to choose the right game because it means that if it is not the right game you can trade it for one that is right for you. Some places won't let you return new games, so buy used.
6.Play the game before you buy it. A great way to choose the right video games for you is to test them out. Go to a rental store and try the game out. If you like it, then you can spend money to buy it. If you don't, you are only out the three or four dollars it costs to rent it.
7.Talk to your friends. A lot of people play video games with their friends, and their friends play similar games, so your friends could tell you what games they enjoy, and chances are you will enjoy them as well.
