Socializing is one of the most important things that humans do. It is important because we learn about each other through socializing. It is one of the most enjoyable things that any of us do in our lives. It is important because people don’t live alone. They live with other people and only through the help of other people. Socialization is a big part of what it means to be a person and to be succesful in life. Obviously we need to take our socializing seriously. If we do not socialize well with other people we will probably not lead very happy lives. This doesn’t mean that people who are not naturally social cannot lead happy lives, it simply means that without any socialization we struggle in life. In our modern age technology has improved our ability to communicate through various means.

The Internet is a wonderful technological tool partly because it allows us to communicate more. With the click of a mouse we can send messages to hundreds of people. A mere twenty years ago this would not have been the case. Taking advantage of this wonderful tool could improve your social life and your connection to other people. You might have heard of some of these social networking sites like Facebook. These sites can be great because they allow people who might not normally email or call you to stay in touch in some way. They can simply post messages to your page. Another important social networking site that you should know about is Twitter. Much like facebook, Twitter provides each user with a page where posts can be placed and received. On Twitter you send short blog messages—only one hundred and forty words at most. These messages can be about anything and can be sent to selected recipients only or all of your Twitter friends.

One of the great things about Twitter is that it allows information to be shared in a number of unique ways. One is that you can actually send a message to friends from your Twitter page to their cell phones or instant message accounts. You can literally communicate with hundreds, if not thousands of people this way. You can also send a message to friends’ Twitter accounts by texting or emailing. There are many, many interesting ways to share little bits of information through Twitter.

So what kind of things can you communicate through Twitter? One would be just a simple message about how your day went. You could write to a friend and cheer them up. On the other hand you could send messages to all your friends alerting them to a family problem or party. The posts are short but this doesn’t mean that they can’t be important. Part of the charm of Twitter is that you can send messages quickly, meaning that they need to be fairly short.
This also means that Twitter can be a great tool for businesses. Imagine needing to contact several different people in your office at once to let them know about a new product or invention. You could simply text their Twitter profiles. For mothers and fathers with children away at school it can be nice to get a short message from your kids everyday. One of the nice things about Twitter is that the kids can do this easily through various means, which might mean that they will be more likely to communicate. Be creative and you will find all sorts of uses for Twitter that you would have never dreamed of. The sky is literally the limit with Twitter.
