The parable of the ten virgins is just one of the many stories found in the bible that Jesus used to try and teach to the people. There are a few ten virgins’ bible crafts that you can use to help supplement your lesson and make it a little more meaningful. Let’s look at an overview of the parable quickly and then at some ideas you can use with your lesson.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

This is a parable about ten women who came to meet Jesus at the wedding. There were five of the bridesmaids that were prepared and had filled their lamps with oil, and five of them that had forgotten or didn’t take the time to fill their lamps. When the bridegroom arrived the five that hadn’t filled their lamps wanted to borrow lamp from the five that had come prepared but they wouldn’t share. If they had shared with the five that came unprepared there wouldn’t have been enough oil for the five that came prepared. The Lord invited the five in that were prepared and the five that were not were left outside.

Crowns: These work better for the younger kids (age 3-8) mostly but sometimes the older kids will get into decorating them. There are really several different ways to make crowns. You can just use paper and buy some pretend jewelry to decorate it with. You can use different colors of metallic bordette which is a little sturdier than just using paper. Then buy some gemstones, glitter, or other things to decorate the crown. These ones are usually a big hit and kids have a great time making them. Just remember to bring glue, scissors, and all the extra nick knacks you want to decorate your crown with.
