Easter crafts are fun to make. They also make great gifts or display pieces. If you love crafts and would love to do Easter crafts, but don’t know where to start, the following are some great Easter crafts for beginners.
Easter Bunny and Egg Centerpiece
Materials
* 4″ clay pot
* Bunny pick
* 3″ Styrofoam egg
* Florist’s foam
* Purple Easter grass
* 1½” purple patterned sheer ribbon, 12″ long
* Pastel colored acrylic paint
* Wood skewer
Instructions
1. Hold the foam against the bottom of the pot and measure it, then cut your foam piece about 1/8″ less so it will fit tightly into the bottom of the clay pot.
2. Press the measures piece into the bottom of the pot.
3. Push the rabbit pick into the florist’s foam. It should be at an angle, so the stick rests against the back of the pot. Keep the bottom of the rabbit about an inch above the pot’s rim.
4. Arrange the Easter grass in the pot so it covers the florist’s foam.
5. Cut a 4½” piece of the skewer and push it into the bottom of the Styrofoam egg.
6. Using the piece of skewer to hold onto the egg, paint the egg with a generous coat of paint. Note: It may take several coats to fill in the impressions on the surface of the egg. Let dry completely.
7. Wrap the ribbon around the middle of the clay pot so the ends overlap slightly, gluing it in place with hot glue and tie a bow, again, gluing the ends of the bow into place.
8. When the paint is dry on the egg, insert the other end of the skewer stuck into the bottom of the Styrofoam egg into the piece of florist’s foam in the bottom of the clay pot.
Easter Bunny
This simple crafts is great for kids or anyone who wants to make an quick, easy craft.
Materials
* Cotton balls
* Styrofoam egg
* White chenille pipe cleaner
* Thicker pink chenille pipe cleaner
* Craft eyes
* Small pink pom-pom
* Thin wire
* Wire cutters
* Cardboard
* Scissors
* Glue (Tacky glue if kids are making the craft; hot glue is fine otherwise)
* Fabric or lace
Instructions
1. Glue the cotton balls on a styrofoam egg. This will be the tail and feet.
2. Bend the white pipe cleaner around the thicker pink pipe cleaner to create the ears.
3. Add craft eyes, a pink pom-pom for the nose and thin wire whiskers.
4. Cover a cardboard circle with fabric or lace.
5. Place on a cardboard circle with hole cut out for the base of the egg to rest in.
Easter Egg Shell Mosaics
Save all the peelings from your dyed Easter egg shells to make a beautiful Easter mosaic. You can also glue the crushed shells onto a picture frame.
Materials
* Easter egg shells
* Glue
* Cardboard or heavy construction paper
Instructions
1. Crush all the Easter egg shells into small pieces. Make sure they are not too small, however, or the colors will blend together.
2. Using a pen or pencil, draw a design onto the cardboard or paper.
3. Spread glue over the design, working in sections, then glue the egg shells down on cardboard or paper to create a mosaic picture.
