Materials needed:

•Apples
•Whole cloves
•Ground spices, your favorite scents
•Ribbon

Directions:

•The first thing that you are going to want to do is to take get an apple and wash and dry it.

•Next place some whole cloves into a small bowl for easier access.

•Now take one clove at a time and place the stem of the clove into the apple itself, basically you are going to be pushing the whole cloves into the apple skin stem first.

•You can cover the entire apple with whole cloves placed close together or you can make any kind of design that you can think of.

•Now you want to pour about a quarter of a cup of your favorite dried spices into a bowl.

•You can use all of one spice or you can mix a variety of spices together. Some of the more commonly used spices are cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, orris root, ginger or rosemary

•Next you want to place the apple into the bowl and roll it around in the spices

•Now place the apple in a warm, dry, dark place for about two to three weeks, basically you want to keep the apple in this place until it has dried and shriveled completely

•But when the apple is in this place you still want to take it out two to three times per day and roll it around in the bowl of spices and turn it, basically you don’t want the apple to stay on one side because it will dry and shrivel funny, basically it will warp or flatten on one side.

•Once the apple is completely dry you need to take it out and tie a ribbon around it for the finishing touch. Now it is ready to hang in a room or a closet.
