Lucky Leprechaun

This Leprechaun craft can be hung up anywhere you choose or you can sit him on shelves or desks. You may want to start this craft a week or two before you need them to allow for proper drying. To make a Lucky Leprechaun you will need to have green crepe paper, construction paper in green, white and black, either pieces of orange paper or orange crepe paper, tape, glue, and scissors. To begin assembling your leprechaun you will want to cut out the following things: a white face, a black hat just like you see leprechauns were, black boots, 2 or 3 small black buttons and a pair of white hands. After you have these cut out put them to the side and cut out 4 pieces of green crepe paper about 2 or 3 inches long. These are to attach the legs and arms so make them the length you want to have your leprechaun’s legs and arms. Take a piece of green construction paper and roll it into a tube shape to make the body of your leprechaun. You can also use a toilet paper roll painted green although this may take more time. You can now begin to assemble your leprechaun by attaching the crepe paper to the top and bottom sides of your tube for his arms and legs. Add the hands and boots you cut out to the ends of the crepe paper. If you haven’t already you can decorate your leprechauns face adding a beard or wiggly eyes if you want, and the hat you previously cut out. Let the face dry then attach to the body. Glue the buttons on to the leprechaun’s body and your Lucky Leprechaun is finished. You can hang him up with a piece of thread through the body or hat or you can let him sit on a shelf.
