Switch to Desktop/Mobile View

For this next St. Patrick’s Day craft for a beginning crafter you just need to know how to grow grass. This craft will have you growing your own leprechaun. You will need a small Styrofoam cup of about 5 inches, planting soil, grass seed, green and black construction paper, googly eyes, and a black marker. To begin you need to fill your Styrofoam cup with dirt and put the grass seed on top. Gently mix the grass seed and dirt together with you finger. You don’t have to have the seed too deep just enough to cover it. Water your grass, this grass is the hair for your St. Patrick’s Day leprechaun. Once the hair is grown to a length you like you can decorate your cup. Cut out a leprechaun hat out of your green and black construction paper. Make sure the outside of the cup is dry and glue the hat to the top of your Styrofoam cup but not covering where the grass is. Glue the googly eyes onto the cup and use your marker to finish your leprechauns face. . You can make ears from the green construction paper and glue them to the sides of your cup. Keep watering your grass and once in a while give your leprechaun a hair cut. This craft is great for the littler kids because they can do everything but the cutting.
