If you are not familiar with the story of the Prodigal son, the wayward son’s father threw a big part or celebration up the sons return home. Help the children understand that even when they make mistakes their Heavenly Father is happy when they decide to make a better choice and “come home.” You can do a lot of things with celebrating. You could have your own celebration about making good choices. Have the children make up invitations for their parents and have a part about the kinds of choices that bring us closer to God. For younger children you could have them decorate a picture of a balloon with markers or glitter pens, or they could even decorate a real balloon to take home. Kids love balloons so this will definitely help them remember how happy a father can be when their lost child comes home and makes better choices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
