{"id":1445,"date":"2009-10-27T08:25:03","date_gmt":"2009-10-27T15:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.makeplaydough.com\/blog\/1445\/butterfly-paper-chain\/"},"modified":"2009-10-27T08:25:03","modified_gmt":"2009-10-27T15:25:03","slug":"butterfly-paper-chain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/early\/1445\/butterfly-paper-chain","title":{"rendered":"Butterfly Paper Chain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some great ideas for paper butterfly crafts.<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>Butterfly Paper Chain Craft<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t<u>Materials <\/u><\/p>\n<p>\t2 pieces of white construction paper<br \/>\tPaint in various colors<br \/>\t2 or 3 colors of construction paper<br \/>\tScissors<br \/>\tScotch tape or glue<br \/>\tWiggly eyes<br \/>\tBlack marker<\/p>\n<p>\t<u>Instructions<\/u><\/p>\n<p>\t<em>Wings<\/em>\t<\/p>\n<ul>\t<\/p>\n<li>Lay out one piece of white paper on top of the table<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tSqueeze out splotches of different paint colors on the white paper in various locations<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tPlace the second sheet of white paper on top of the first piece of paper so that all of the edges are lined up<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tPress your hands over the paper and down so that you spread the paint out that is sandwiched between the two pieces of paper.<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tPeel the two pieces of paper apart so that you have two pieces that are mirror images of each other and set them aside to dry.<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tAfter they are dry put them back together paint side to paint side again<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tCut out a rough wing shape out of the pages<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tTake them apart and then tape them together so that you have wings for your butterfly<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tYou can also paint around the outside edges of the wings with glitter glue or one of the paint colors that you used for the wings<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tCut out 8 strips of construction paper that is 2 inches wide and 10 inches long<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tFigure out what kind of a pattern that you want to make<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tMake the first strip of construction paper into a ring and tape or glue it together<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tNext slide your second strip of construction paper through the ring and then tape or glue it into a ring<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tRepeat this process until you have a chain of construction paper rings that are just a little bit longer than your wings<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tLay the chain onto the wings<\/li>\n<p>\t<\/p>\n<li>\tEvery spot that the chain lies flat on the wings either tape or glue them to attach it to the wings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\t<em>Antennas<\/em><br \/>\tCut two \u00c2\u00bc inch by 5 inch pieces of construction paper<br \/>\tWarp each piece around a pencil to make it curly<br \/>\tFold a tab at the bottom of each piece<br \/>\tGlue the tabs onto the top of the head so that you make two antennas<\/p>\n<p>\t<em>Eyes<\/em><br \/>\tGlue wiggly eyes onto the front of the head, or<br \/>\tDraw two eyes onto the front of the head with a marker<\/p>\n<p>\t<em>Mouth<\/em><br \/>\tDraw a mouth onto the front of the head with a marker<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some great ideas for paper butterfly crafts.
