When considering the vast array of craft choices it has become almost impossible to determine what the most popular crafts are. The popularity of a craft is often determined by the geographic location, the availability of needed supplies and the target market. What may be very popular in one area of the country may hardly be noticed somewhere else. In addition the geographic accessibility may also determine what is popular for example: Indian pottery is highly popular in the southwest while art with a nautical theme is popular in Florida. But overall certain crafts do remain popular among crafters. Scrap booking in many forms continues to grow in popularity as many people look to hearth and home to record their memories. As a growth off of scrap booking, card making has come up in popularity as well. Jewelry making and bead work also remain popular crafts. Painting on everyday articles is always popular as well. But the main requirement if you are looking to choose a craft is what you think will be fun! The choices are nearly endless but here are some ideas that combine several popular crafts-<\/p>\n
• \tCard Collectors Frame-<\/strong>This fun way to make a frame can really be a personal reflection of your crafting style. It’s a great way to use old CD cases to add some splash to your artwork (or photos) or they make great gifts. <\/p>\n What you will need:<\/em><\/p>\n CD Case Instructions for the project: <\/u>Cut a piece of construction paper or cardstock into a square that will fit into the CD case. Place your photograph in the center of the square and trace around it. Cut out the area that you traced, cutting it about 1\/4 inches smaller than the line you traced. Put a dab of glue in each corner of your square, on the opposite side of your trace lines. Open the CD case and stick your square on the inside of the clear CD case cover. This is the mat for your photo or memento. You can decorate the front “mat” around your picture by painting, drawing or even adding stickers. Cut a strip of construction paper about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. Cut another piece of construction paper about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long. Lay your photo down between the trace lines in the center of your square. Lay the strips over the back of the photo. Tape the edges of your strips so they hold your photo in place. Make sure the tape does not get on the photo. Close the CD case.
