This is probably the easiest of the milk soaps to make but will give you a lovely result.<\/p>\n
What you will need:<\/em><\/p>\n

16 oz. vegetable shortening<\/li>\n
7 oz. olive oil<\/li>\n
7 oz. coconut oil<\/li>\n
1 oz. cocoa butter<\/li>\n
6 oz water<\/li>\n
6 oz. milk<\/li>\n
4 oz. 100% lye<\/li>\n
Newspaper<\/li>\n
Soap molds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Instructions for the project:<\/span><\/p>\n
Place the newspaper of a hard, flat surface and set out the molds. Put the shortening, oils and cocoa butter in the large pot and place over a very low flame to melt. You will want to make sure the mixture does not heat up above 125 degrees. When everything is melted together, then set the pan aside and allow the mixture to cool to approximately 105 degrees. While this is cooling, it is now time to mix the water and lye. You should always put the lye into the water, not the other way around. Continue stirring this mixture until all the lye is dissolved. This will then have to be set aside to cool to within five degrees of the oil mixture. Keep in mind that if these two mixtures are not within five degrees of each other, the soap will not turn out properly. When both are cooled enough, carefully mix the lye mixture into the oil mixture. This will need to sit until the mixture thickens. Keep in mind that this may take several hours, but you do not want to pour the mixture too soon. Stir the mixture from time to time. Once the mixture thickens, you can now pour it into your molds. The molds then need to be covered with plastic wrap and wrapped in a thick towel or blanket. Keep the molds covered at least 24 hours. Once you unwrap and un-mold your soap, allow it to age for at least three weeks before using it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
