\"Easter<\/p>\n

Easter is considered a “moveable feast,” meaning it is not a fixed date on the Julian or Gregorian calendars. Instead, it follows the lunisolar calendar which\u00a0uses the solar time of year and moon phases to determine calendar\u00a0dates, including that of religious practices or other significant events. The Jewish calendar is also a Lunisolar calendar.<\/p>\n

The observance of Easter is significant in most Christian religions, although practices vary. The Puritans and Quakers do not observe Easter. However, it is celebrated by Protestants, Eastern and Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, and Jehovah’s Witnesses, among others. The name of the holiday “Easter” comes from the celebration feast of a\u00a0pagan\u00a0goddess, that was celebrated on the vernal equinox in the ancient pagan religions. \u00a0Today, Easter celebrations include church services, Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets, and the Easter Bunny.<\/p>\n
