If you are looking for some way to fill those Halloween hours between the end of school and the beginning of trick or treat time you may want to consider having some craft projects on hand. Elementary school age kids have lots of energy and are filled with excitement over Halloween. Having some craft projects to do that are simple, require few materials and little adult supervision is a great way to make the day fun and pass the time until the evening festivities begin. Here are some great Halloween crafts for elementary school age kids-
This is a cute ghost that is easy to make from a balloon and two plastic grocery bags. It makes a great Halloween decoration or a toy (keep in mind though this is not for very young children). This ghost flies really well!
What you will need:
•A white balloon
•Scissors
•2 white plastic grocery bags
•Tape
•A black marker
Directions for the project-Start by cutting the handles off the white plastic grocery bags. If there are colored markings on the bags you will want to cut them off too. Be sure to leave the seam at the bottom of the bags intact, cut the bags into strips. Blow up the white balloon. Carefully tape the plastic bags around the end of the balloon (tape the bags in a circle a few inches from one end of the balloon). If you plan on hanging the ghost up as a decoration, tape the plastic bags around the plain end and leave the tied end of the balloon exposed so you can tie a string to the top of the ghost. Now you can give your ghost a face by using a black marker and drawing two eyes and a mouth on the balloon.
