Mother\u2019s Day just seems to lend itself to making crafts. Moms love to receive a homemade gift from their loved ones. Best of all Mother\u2019s Day crafts don\u2019t have to be complicated. There are lots of easy ways that you can show mom how much you appreciate her. Best of all these projects can be done with easy to find and easy to afford craft materials. While you don\u2019t have to be a highly experienced crafter, you can use these crafts to show mom how much you love her on her special day. Here are some easy crafts for Mother\u2019s Day-<\/p>\n
Recipe Dish Towel-<\/strong>This delightful keepsake craft is fun, for a young child to make, but keep in mind an older teen or adult will need to finish the project.<\/p>\n What you will need:<\/em> Directions for the project:<\/em> Have the child pick a favorite dish that there mother makes. Have the child use the crayons to draw a picture of the food, covering as much of the paper as possible but leaving room for the recipe. Then he or she can write (or you can write for a younger child) her version of the recipe, including ingredients and directions. You can ask her to sign and date it too. (Remember no corrections please-if the child thinks that dumplings are made from cotton balls, go with it.) After they are completely finished take the paper to a copy shop (call ahead to make sure they do iron-ons) and have an iron-on transfer made at 50 percent of the size. If the copy shop has a heat press, you can have them iron on the transfer there or an adult can iron it on at home.<\/p>\n Tissue Paper Carnations-<\/strong>These spring flowers are certain to delight mom. While most crafters age 6 and up can do this, parental supervision is still recommended.<\/p>\n What you will need:<\/em> Directions for the project:<\/em> Layer three to four sheets of pink tissue paper together then cut them into 4-5\u201d wide strips that are 12\u201d long. Cut about 1.5\u201d off the end of a chenille stem and set aside. Take the remaining piece of the chenille stem and lay about 2\u201d of it onto the tissue paper and roll up (starting at the short end) around the chenille.\tOnce completely rolled up, take the short piece of chenille that you cut off earlier and twist it around the bottom of the tissue paper to hold it in place. Use scissors to cut 2-3\u201d long slits down from the top of the rolled tissue paper. Continue around until all strips are cut. Roll up a 6\u201dx2\u201d piece of green tissue paper and place at the top of the flower stem. Grab the bottom of the stem and bring it up and over the green tissue paper and twist tight. These are the flower\u2019s leaves. Repeat, making several different flowers, then combine the stems to make a bouquet. Twist the stem of any one of the flowers around the rest of the stems to hold them all together.<\/p>\n
