Dear Barbara,
Whew! Over the weekend some members were not able to access the Surfnetkids Printables Club, but
everything should be up and working again. All the commotion was the result of moving Surfnetkids.com from
an old, dusty, tired server to a brand new one that’s bigger and faster.
If you do happen upon something broken on the site, can you please let me know? Thanks.
See ya on the Net,
Barbara J. Feldman

With cooler, shorter fall days, now is the perfect time to gather round the kitchen table with construction paper, glue, paint and scissors to make some Thanksgiving crafts. I could never design any of these clever craft projects myself, but I do know where to find them online. Remember, it’s not about coloring within the lines or cutting along them, it’s just about having fun and being together. Enjoy!
Better Homes & Gardens: Thanksgiving Crafts

These Thanksgiving craft projects run the gamut from Kids’ Crafts (scroll down a bit) to hostess gifts, but all are illustrated and well documented. One preschool craft that caught my eye was the Turkey Keeper made with construction paper outlines of your child’s hands and feet. “Write the date on the back of the turkey so you can remember, in the years to come, when it was that your children really were this small.” To peruse ideas for other holidays, click over to the drop-down Holidays menu in the upper left-hand corner.
DLTK-Kids: Thanksgiving Activities

At DLTK, it’s not just about Thanksgiving crafts, but also about online games (Thanksgiving Word Searches and Jigsaws), recipes (“some for mom, some for kids”), songs, greeting cards, coloring pages, and printables. A few of my favorites were printable Thanksgiving Bingo cards (great for an after dinner game, look in Printables) and Autumn Leaf Turkey (found in Turkey Crafts.)
Enchanted Learning: Thanksgiving Crafts
http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/thanksgiving/
“The first Thanksgiving in the USA was a feast in 1621 shared by the Pilgrims (who had recently settled Plymouth Colony in what is now Massachusetts) and the Wampanoag Indians, who shared their corn, squash, and wild turkeys. This first feast was not repeated until over a decade later. Thanksgiving was declared a national holiday in 1863 by President Abraham Lincoln.” Enchanted Learning specializes in printable crafts to cut, color, glue and fill-in. If your kids are under ten, their Thanksgiving collection will not disappoint.

Dear Barbara,
Thanks for the fiction that you sent me. As I am the learner of English language, it is a great help to my improvement. Some of the characters’ names seem to come from bible. Anyway thanks a lot. As I live in different country, I don’t earn in dolars so although I’d like to buy some books, I can not do it. Thanks alot and many God bless.
With best wishes,
June Rose
Dear June,
Thanks for writing. I wish you had told me what country you are from, but from your email address, I am guessing you are Pakastani. I’m thrilled that the Surfnetkids Email Book Clubs are helping you with your English, and affording you an opportunity to read fiction without having to buy the books.

#7. Quote of the Week
“How wonderful it would be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn thanksgiving at an early age. Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child’s personality. A child is resentful, negative or thankful. Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness, they draw people.” ~~ Sir John Templeton ( 1912 – ) American businessman, investor, and philanthropist.
