Feldman\" align=\"bottom\" width=\"58\" height=\"58\"><br \/>\nDear Reader,<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with teenagers is familiar with “the groan,” that unique guttural sound uttered by teenagers whenever their parents say or do something they think is completely ridiculous. I get it a lot. If you don’t I suspect it’s either because you don’t have teenagers or you are not talking to them enough. <BR><BR><br \/>\nThis morning’s groan was about a book I am currently listening to “on tape.” (I put that in quotes, because in my case it’s not actually tape, but rather an MP3 file playing on my iPod.) So what “groan worthy” book am I listening to these days? <i>The New Psycho-Cybernetics<\/i> by Dr. Maxwell Maltz, edited by Dan S. Kennedy. I make a point of not doing my own kids’ schoolwork — so don’t expect me to do your children’s homework. But I do know where your kids can go for ideas that will get their own creative juices flowing. You can search by keyword (such as “bacteria” or “sun spots.”) Or browse by topic (biology, chemistry, physics, earth science and engineering.) Each individual project page then links to an sample project elsewhere on the Web. The first step is noticing something, wondering why or how, and writing down your ideas and questions. The process continues with information gathering and research. To top it all off, the last section of the page provides a reassuring answer to the frequently asked question “What if my science fair project doesn’t work?”<\/p>\n<p>Science Buddies<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencebuddies.org\/\">http:\/\/www.sciencebuddies.org\/<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"*****\"> <br \/>\nScience Buddies is a non-profit organization encouraging students to “improve their science skills” and “consider additional study or careers in science.” It’s also my pick-of-the-day site because of the Topic Selection Wizard, and the general excellence of all the guidance provided. Choosing a topic is often the most agonizing part of starting a science fair project. Use the wizard to guide you toward a topic that interests you. Be warned, however, you’ll have to answer a lot of questions to work your way through the wizard. Other great clicks are the list of bad science fair topics in the “How To” section, and the “Ask an Expert” online forum.<\/p>\n<p><SPAN><b>#4. Note from a Subscriber<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank you!
