I achieved one of my very lofty business goals, and missed the mark on another. And then it occurred to me that the one that I met was one that I had shared OUT LOUD with my buddies.<\/p>\n<p>I have read from multiple authors (such as Robert Cialdini in “<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/cgi-bin\/books.cgi?Influence+Cialdini\">Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion<\/a>“) that goals that are SHARED are more likely to be achieved. So, this year, in addition to writing your goals down, I suggest telling ALL your friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>What’s up my sleeve for the coming year? I am interested in buying a few websites in the education\/family\/teacher arena. If you have a website that you’ve been working on for years, but you are ready to move on to something else, drop me a line. Although TIME magazine highlighted the importance of user-\tcontributed content in naming “You” Person of the Year ( <a href=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/magazine\/article\/0,9171,1569514,00.html\">http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/magazine\/article\/0,9171,1569514,00.html<\/a> ), here in my corner of the world, the best educational content is still created by small teams of talented wizards. Not to downplay the importance of YouTube, MySpace, Flickr or Facebook in the online culture, but my quest for the best takes me to far different corners of the Web.<\/p>\n<p>NobelPrize.org<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/\">http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star4.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"****\"> <br \/>\nThe official Nobel Prize site is not at all stuffy or pretentious, and really makes the work of the winners come alive. My favorite section is Educational Games, which houses dozens of fun, interactive activities based on the work of Prize winners. Other site highlights are Nobel Laureates Facts (only thirty-three women have won the coveted award) and Internet TV with interviews and lectures by the Laureates.<\/p>\n<p>Renaissance Connection<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.renaissanceconnection.org\/\">http:\/\/www.renaissanceconnection.org\/<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"*****\"> <br \/>\n“In many ways we are still living in a Renaissance world. And you can see the origins of our world in the visual arts of the Renaissance.” Although I normally skip as fast as I can over Flash intros, I did enjoy this one. Turn on your speakers to hear the accompanying music. The Renaissance Connection is one of my annual picks because of its creative interface and six lesson plans in PDF. Visit to explore the life of a Renaissance artist or to imagine yourself a patron of arts.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco Symphony Kids: Instruments of the Orchestra<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfskids.org\/templates\/instorchframe.asp?pageid=3\">http:\/\/www.sfskids.org\/templates\/instorchframe.asp?pageid=3<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"*****\"> <br \/>\nSFSKids is on my list because of its friendly animated interface. Learn about the instrument families, and then explore the rest of the site. My favorite feature is The Radio, which consists of six channels, each featuring a different musical theme.
