Feldman\" align=\"bottom\" width=\"58\" height=\"58\"><br \/>\nDear Reader,<\/p>\n<p>I just had the BEST Thanksgiving ever. I hope you and yours were also blessed. I took most of the week off of work, and am just a wee bit behind , but it was certainly all worth it. Friday morning (the day after Thanksgiving) I had a few setbacks, you know those days when you wonder how many more bad things could possibly happen? But looking back on them, they are now just mostly funny.<\/p>\n<p>Like most families (I’m sure?), I had a kitchen full of dirty Thanksgiving dishes and beds full of sleeping guests when I discovered the house had NO RUNNING WATER! My first thought was to wake my husband (misery loves company) but then I decided not to ruin his morning, so I sat down at my computer desk to call the water company. I was half way through dialing, when I spied the gardener on his knees, digging in my front lawn Hmmmm. I went running outside (barefoot and pajama-clad) as he started apologizing profusely. He cut a water line, and had to turn our water off. No worries, he said, he can fix it, it should only be about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>As I ran back into the house (cold, cold, COLD!) I discovered cat diarrhea poop on my BRAND NEW LazBoy recliner, covering one of my daughter’s textbooks. One of our guests had closed the door to our laundry room, where the cats have their litterboxes. Whether your goal is a good score on Friday’s vocab quiz, a perfect score on your Verbal SAT , or simply to improve your vocabulary, these sites will surely help.<\/p>\n<p>Flashcard DB<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"*****\"> <br \/>\nAt Flashcard DB, you can create your own flashcards, or use an existing set created by a community member. Online study can be paced by either the Leitner or Graded Spaced Repetition systems, which are two different algorithms for studying harder items (those with incorrect answers) more often than easy items (those you’ve answered correctly.) In addition to the print function, Flashcard DB offers a multiple-choice interactive quiz for all the flashcard sets.<\/p>\n<p>Quizlet<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"*****\"> <br \/>\n“Quizlet eats flashcards for breakfast.” Although some games are playable without an account, you’ll want to sign up for a free account to build your own interactive flashcard sets to study in five different modes: Familiarize, Learn, Test, Scatter Game, and Space Race Game. Sets are organized by tags, and can be coded private or public, or exported in a variety of formats to use elsewhere. Before I run out of space here, I must tell you that Andrew Sutherland started Quizlet in 2005 when he was just fifteen. Put Quizlet on your must see list, and spend a few minutes reading up on this amazing young entrepreneur.<\/p>\n<p>Test Designer: Vocabulary<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"*****\"> <br \/>\nBasic membership at Test Designer is free, but does require registration. A free membership allows you to create and save up to two printable tests at a time, with up to ten questions each. The easiest way to begin is to choose a grade level (kindergarten through grad school), and build a test by choosing from the existing vocab words. To enter your own vocabulary words, dash over to Create (in the horizontal menu at the top of the page.)
