At the end of the nineteenth century, traveling with all their possessions in a covered wagon, the Ingalls moved west from Wisconsin to Missouri, Kansas and Dakota. Although she didn’t start writing the books until she was 65 years old, the series is written in her voice as a girl of four through seven. <\/p>\nAmerica’s Story: Laura Ingalls Wilder \n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.surfnetkids.com\/images\/kid-sml-star4.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"****\"> \n“Imagine what it would have been like to be one of the early settlers of the American frontier, moving by covered wagon through wide, windy prairies. At the end of the nineteenth century, traveling with all their possessions in a covered wagon, the Ingalls moved west from Wisconsin to Missouri, Kansas and Dakota.
