St. Patrick\u2019s Day is the holiday where you get pinched if you are not wearing green. However, other than this tradition, what are some things you can do to make the holiday fun? There is always the traditional foods, and tales of pots of gold and four leaf clovers for luck, but the following is a look at some fun St. Patrick\u2019s Day activities:<\/p>\n

Treasure hunts for the leprechaun pot of gold: <\/strong>Since gold is one of the big legends surrounding the leprechaun and the holiday St. Patrick\u2019s Day, having a treasure hunt for it can be a great St. Patrick\u2019s Day activity. Kids and adults alike will get into the excitement and adventure of following clues and finding the leprechauns that lead to a treasure. You can make it a scavenger type hunt, or leave little clues that lead up to a basket of chocolate gold coins, or other treasures, prizes, treats, etc.<\/p>\n

Baking St. Patrick\u2019s Day treats and goodies:<\/strong> Food is one of the big parts of the St. Patrick\u2019s Day traditions, so why not make it part of the activity? Things like corned beef and cabbage take 3-4 hours to cook, so instead make the goodies and treats. You can mix up rainbow cupcakes and use green candies to decorate the tops. You can make sugar cookies cut into the shapes of four leaf clovers, shamrocks, leprechauns, etc. The idea is to create a goody or treat that will entice the kids and adults, and that will embrace the theme and traditions of St. Patrick\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

St. Patrick\u2019s day crafts: <\/strong>Make your own leprechaun hat out of construction paper and tape; decorate it with shamrocks, gold pieces, and the like. Make little leprechauns that dance around a pot of gold, or some other holiday themed craft. You can really make this a great activity. You just have to find something that fits your personality, and create it. If you have little girls, consider making \u201ctreasure chests\u201d or \u201cpots of gold\u201d to hold their trinkets and jewelry.<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t lie, leprechaun games:<\/strong>Legend has it that a leprechaun can\u2019t lie, and so they are very evasive and tricky. One activity you can play is the twenty questions game, or other such games where you can\u2019t tell a lie, but you may not tell a truth as well. A fun example is to have someone leave the room, and everyone else hide something, then the person comes back in and asks questions in order to try to find it. You can\u2019t lie about your answer, but you can mislead through it.<\/p>\n

When choosing a fun St. Patrick\u2019s Day activity, start by considering the ages, abilities, and interests of everyone involved. Then choose your activity to fit, whether that means something that is physically active, a game, a craft, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
