If you love to make homemade soap there is no reason to limit yourself to the basics. Homemade soaps can be done in a variety of ways and fragrances. You can add specialty colors and make them in unique shapes. Best of all making homemade soap can be a great craft to do with family and friends.

Glycerin Soap-This translucent soap makes a wonderful gift.
What you will need:
- Food Coloring
- Fragrant Essential Oils
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Candy Thermometer
- Double Boilers
- Stirring Spoons
Instructions for the project:
Start by melting 1 pound of glycerin soap base in a double boiler. The temperature should be around 155 degrees F. Remove the soap base from the heat and stir in cosmetic-grade coloring. You can also add 1 tablespoon of essential oil if desired. Mix thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a soap, candle or candy mold. You can spray the mold lightly with rubbing alcohol to help prevent bubbles. Be sure that you let any bubbles in the soap base rise to the top. You can also spray the soap tops with rubbing alcohol to make the bubbles disappear. Let the soap set up for at least Â½ hour, then put the soap molds in the freezer for 30 minutes. Remove the soaps from the freezer and allow the molds to sit for 10 minutes. The soap should then pop right out.
