J.K. Rowling is the author of the much-loved series of seven Harry Potter novels, originally published between 1997 and 2007. Along with the three companion books written for charity, the series has sold over 500 million copies, been translated into 80 languages, and made into eight blockbuster films.

In May 2020, J.K. Rowling?s fairy tale for younger children, The Ickabog, was serialised for free online for children during the Covid-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020, and is now published as a book illustrated by children.

Then in June 1997 Bloomsbury published Harry Potter and the Philosopher?s Stone under the name J.K. Rowling. The ?K? stands for Kathleen, my paternal grandmothers name.
