The quote from Thomas Jefferson PROVES that the Founders intended for Americans to keep and bear arms to warn the rulers and "preserve the spirit of resistance". If you think that Jefferson's statement does NOT plainly indicate that they wanted us to warn the rulers, then say so, and give your reasoning.
